Especially, a nice image of the Spinward Marches Campaign, as Swordy's looks too crinkled.

The center vessel (Flagship?) looks like a CJ-15 Rift Cruiser. Color shading makes the others a little tough, but I think the ones directly above and under the flagship are Atlantic Class CA's, and below that is either a Kinunir or a good old Type S. The ship shown by it's drive plume on the ventral/forward part of the flagship might be an AHL.

That's about all. I suppose the central ship could be any of the TL15 Imperial cruisers (CJ-15, CH-15, etc) since they all seemed to be a common hull structure with just variation in drives/armamment.

We have Atlantic-class CRs, Ghalalk-class CAs, Gionetti-class CLs, and Arakoine-class CSs, escorting one big ship I don't know.

'Seen the Manga-Trav pix before; the other one is new to me. All of them are impressive.

Gives one respect for the sight of the Imperial Navy when it comes to your system it does.

I don't think so. Given the picture I think it has to be something more like (rough guess mind you) 2Mtons. IT is (whatever it is) a MONSTER! Presuming of course that the artist bothered with perspective and relative scales, and my quick eyeball is in the right ballpark. Too many ifs to be sure

Still, it is a pretty (and impressive as Liam notes) picture.

So, the classes are named, all but the big one ;) I don't think it'll be a class. It's probably one of a kind.

Who's the one responsible for the work? Maybe they know what kind of scale it is. Was it you Vamp?

</font>
Well, I just looked at my copy of Fighting Ships of the Shattered Imperium (Sometimes I add "Yaskoydray's" to the front cause of some of the errors....
) And the BI-15 seems to be a VERY close matchup (90%+).

My guess is it's a perspective/angle matter. Also, consider that next to the central ship, the other's are 75Kdton and under, so yes, a BI-15 works.

To be specific, looks to me like the picture shows just part of the fleet, with a closeup of the flagship. Maybe taken from a fighter or scout?

Definately not the CJ-15/CH-15 series, the engine section is wrong.

PS: Was there a name to the BI-15 class other then just that designator?

Could be, my FSSI is AWOL so I can't check
It does have kind of a familiar look to it though.

I was going by the Atlantic class cruisers, the one abeam and near the ship's aft portside sure looks like's it's close to it and obviously on the viewer's side. That definitely says the mystery ship is very very big. The other three are the same size and appear to be below (for the one midship portside) and behind or above (for the other two). Granted the other three could be all in front like the first, but that only means the mystery ship could be even larger. My guesstimate was you could drop better than 25 of those Atlantic class into the hull so I pegged it at easily 2Mtons.

Move the Atlantic that is in front of the mystery ship and we are left with any possible tonnage since there'd be no perspective to guess the size.

</font>
You know, one other thing just occured to me. We are assuming that the people at the Japanese site where this came from knew about the relative sizes of the ships. What if they just took a bunch of ships and crammed them together?

That would make the whole attempt to scale by size comparison completely academic.

Good hunting, I hadn't manage to test out all the links. However, I can only hope the creators of ACT and T20 are paying close attention to perhaps what we fans expect.

One can only help struggling Japanese RPG fans by wholeheartedly supporting their efforts.

</font>
OK, OK. I did it!

The flagship is the I.N.S. Imperius Rex, the first and only one million ton superbattleship of its class, under the command of Fleet Admiral V. K. Goolanzoon. She was launched in 1111. Three years after the end of the Fifth Frontier War.

Of course, all of this is part of the Traveller universe I play in. ;)

The ship was designed by my venerable ref, Mr. James Bruce back in 1982 (or was it 1983?) and before we realized that you couldn't have more than one spinal mount on a warship. (Duh, spinal mount!) She came with four type-T meson guns that I incorporated into her hull. You can see them there in the illo.

Man did that ship give us a lot of trouble!

She was finally destroyed over Chronor in 1137 by the Z.C.N. Zhdukkran, a one hundred million ton Zhodani mega-dreadnought commanded by our old nemesis, Admiral Chienjistebr.
