So, jandering about the internet I found out that skittles are coated in bug goo! They use shellac to coat the candy, and shellac is a protective excretion of the female lac bug.

I know! But it's true!

Bug Goo

You have a citation for that? I've been hearing of bug goo in foods since early '70's, never particularly paid attention to such.

McDonald's shakes and Bubble-Yum being 2 I recall.

You'd be very surprised then at the bugs, animals, and bacteria they use to make modern medicines.

I am still highly suspicious of "nougat".

Have you ever encountered nougat in any context other than as vaguely-gooey slime in a confection?

I'm just sayin'...

Never encountered slimy nougat... of course I eat my Milky Ways right after I buy them, so I never give them a chance... :D
