expanded prior history

SOC-13
Spare time project: Produce expanded prior history tables. Navy first, like Book 5.
Chop the terms into 1 year blocks, each worth a 1000 XP. Add speciality schools, assignments (Naval Attache, etc.).

Hmmm...this will take some extra work.

I've already thought about this. One pitfall will be having 4 times more survival rolls. With a straight d20 roll, there's no bell curve and so even DC 2 or 3 rolls will probably eventually fail if you have to roll 16-28 of them in your prior history.

I really liked the specialist schools and MOS's and stuff like that. I was thinking you could create a group of special service school feats, like:

Sapper School Graduate:
Character gains +1 Bonus in following skills: Combat Engineering, Demolitions, and Hide; Stackable with Skill Focus

or

Naval Propulsion School Graduate:
Character gains +1 Bonus in following skills: T/Electronics, T/Gravatics, and T/Mechanics; Stackable with Skill Focus

I was originally thinking to just give the school attendees a straight skill bonus, but that's not really in keeping with d20 skill and level restrictions. Just a thought. Later

Hmmm....yes, but with some posting, survival would be pretty automatic.

Yes. This is exactly the stuff I'm talking about!
