Evaluation of Kinunir colonial cruiser on the MONGOOSE High Guard Update 2022

Drop Capsules are like parachute drops, while gravitic vehicles would be as airlift, and shuttle landings as amphibious operation, to give (more or less) contemporary analogies.
Jump Capsules secure the landing zone.
Gravitic vehicles bring reinforcements.
Shuttles land the BIG IRON.

Unfortunately with meson weapons securing a landing zone and putting all your stuff down into it just makes for a great target.
The good news is that by the point you're up for landing, your navy has suppressed/destroyed the deep meson guns (otherwise your navy wouldn't be bringing in the troop transports and landers), and only the Imperium has battlefield-mobile meson guns.

The bad news is that a high-speed pass and drop of grav vehicles and troops for meteoric re-entry might be the only shot at taking out a deep meson site (or more likely some vital node in its well-dispersed sensor and fire control net). Good luck, Marines!

So ground ops require expeditionary meson screens, perhaps troop landers mounting them.

Meantime I’d expect Kininur type missions to be more spec ops maybe whack the meson guns/targeting arrays, securing key Imperial or opposition people, or other fast raid type which the supporting craft reinforces.

Not a general gravhead LZ likely to be pummeled, mesons or otherwise.
