I just noticed something that should be viewed very positively:
For T5, the errata thread had about the same number of posts as the discussion thread. In addition, there were a ton of whole threads dedicated to rule changes that were needed (outside of the Errata threads). This combination implies that there was a significant amount of complicated changes (that needed to be talked about; not easy to decide).
But, T5.09 has twice as many errata as discussion posts. That means that they are mostly tweaks and typos; they are things that don't need a whole lot of discussion.
The difference implies strongly that the next T5 is much closer to perfect than the original. This reflects positively on everybody who contributed to the newer version.
