Do Aslan use gauss weapons?

While the Aslan have their own versions of various explosive based slug throwers from lower tech levels, what about gauss weapons? For that matter, what about energy weapons other than the plasma streamer mentioned in MgT1 Alien Module 1: Aslan? I don't remember seeing any mention in CT or MgT1 of other weapons commonly used among the clans.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

The slug throwing weapons (which includes gauss types) are all "basically the same" for Aslan, stats-wise, with respect to combat. However, Aslan will require different grip arrangements for the handling on a variety of weapons (4 fingers + thumb for humans, 3 fingers + thumb for Aslan). This usually falls below the level of granularity needed by the game mechanics, but can make for an interesting roleplaying point in actual gameplay.

Bottom line is that the ergonomics are "similar enough" for humans and aslan to use each other's weapons, but for REAL COMFORT you're probably going to want to stick with design ergonomics engineered for and intended for each specific species.

Not knowing much about the Aslan culturally, I don't see why they would not use the pinnacle of slug thrower technology when they can get their hands on it.

It wouldn't make military sense for them not to use gauss weapon systems.

Though, considering their robust physiques, theirs might be bigger.

Yes. The Aslan mercenary company Teahleikhoi, as described in FASA's Adventure Class Ships Vol 4 - Aslan Mercenary Ships, use gauss pistols and rifles. The Gauss Rifle and VRF Gauss Gun are both Aslan skills in the CT Alien module.
You beat me to it.
My players just managed to get a box that "fell off" an InstellArms carrier which had 12 of those inside.
They are discussing how to quietly fence the goods in the most recent game and then next

But remember that the Aslam "thumb" is placed medially with respect to the palm/wrist, not off to the side/edge as on humans.

I would say the ergonomics are different enough that it might impose a -1 DM on usage, depending on the weapon. I could easily see a human not being able to get a firm grip on a weirdly angled pistol grip (or an Aslan not getting a firm one on a straight grip).
