Although the novel Strata is an earlier, SF version of Discworld.

Renewing my acquaintance with Iron Crown's Rolemaster and Middle-Earth series. Might be able to adapt Rolemaster to Discworld. Dwarves are a bit different, but have to see. Definitely different for Goblins and Orcs, and Trolls can function in daylight.

The larger version of that has the a hole in the middle (like a record)(Err. like a CD, or blu-ray disk) where the sun bobs up and down to provide daylight cycles. Since the disk itself outweighs the sun, it happily bobs up and down.

There are a few other interesting bits of physics to make that work correctly, but another cool place to set adventures.
