Anyone have any Dino stats for MgT that they would share?

I seem to recall a few dino like critters in various CT adventures. Nothing specific comes to mind except maybe the things from Tarsus. If I'm recalling the right ones. Huge beasts, big as an ATV, but docile (mostly). Or I'm confused and conflating, which wouldn't be new :)

EDIT: Come to think a little I'm almost certain someone did up a bunch of dinos for CT stats here a while back. Jame maybe? Or was it Trent? Can't recall. Someone was working on a prehistoric setting though, I think. You might try a search or two Cryton. Converting should be easy.

Done the search, found everything from Droyne as dino-decendants to ideas for d20 settings using the D&D monster manuals. I however was hoping for set of MoT stats, or the formulas for creatures over 5000 kg.

So far, no joy.

IMTU, Second Imperium Terrans had easily bio-engineered dinosaur DNA and created 1 or 2 "Jurassic Park" type museum worlds in the Solomani Sphere. Tourists fly into these worlds to see the dinosaurs of Ancient Terra.

Dinosaurs

I haven't done any for MoT. It shouldn't be that hard. The reference in this case is Expert Guide to Dinosaurs. I paid $4 for it at Barnes and Noble. From the tables in order you get a Reproduction Quirk (Lays Eggs). It is a Walker. A Carnivore (some would argue Scavenger). Sticking to Carnivore the choices are Pouncer, Siren, Killer, Trapper, or Chaser. I would go with Killer based on B movies. Weight is given as 5.5 to 7.7 Tonnes. I would average this and weigh the Strength dice toward the higher numbers (7 x 3 = 21, 7 x 6 = 42 so closer to 42). Endurance I would put closer to 21 because of the argument that it lacked the endurance for long chases. Weapons are teeth (Teeth +2). I would put the Armour at 1 or 2. Damage 5 d 6. The number encountered is also a debate. For myself 1D3. Attack 6+ Flee 3-. I don't know if this helps. But there it is.

The problem is that MGT only goes to 5000kg critters... unlike other versions which go up to either 40,000kg or 44,000 kg.

That is the issue. However , as the T-rex is only in the 7 ton (thats not in metric tons) category, and all but the really big herbivores are smaller, I might be able to do this.

thats a good start.

The difference between 7 short tons (US) and 7 Metric tons is about 1400#... call it 6000kg, and you're close enough. Use the 5000kg line...

But, as per our discussion last night, TRex would use normal STR limits for lift/carry.

Definitely Aramis. As its not a quadruped I feel no need to double its lift/carry values. Besides, unless I want my players to encounter Dino-boy strait from the comics, who's gonna try to ride a T-Rex?

Never underestimate the stupidity of a PC.

These are the MgT stats for some of my favorite Dinos, and the inhabitants of any "Dinosaur Planet", "Jurasic Park", or Imperial preserve world that you care to put 'em on.

I used the speed trait on these, for my game its a multiplier on the base 6m move rate. I'm a fan that they were faster than most people think they are, and I think they represent a more accurate representation of just how fast they are thought to have been.

*Bump*

For use with those of you who think Terra Nova rocked!

for most large dino's you need to modify the morale and reaction rules

i seem to remember that the neural pathways were so long on some big dinos that it might be a round or 3 before they really noticed that point of damage you just inflicted to their tail

I liked it. Though for my taste it should have been colonists that went to another planet, IN THIS TIME, and found ALIEN dinos. Which, yes, acted the way that they did in the show.

I put dinos on one of the worlds in MTU. My players loved it, and began running safari expiditions to the world in question.

But it did spawn one major question: If these are Terran dinos, as they seemed to be, who put them here, and what should we call a race older than the Ancients?

Too much fun.

Thanks, I had forgotten about the psionic space snails.
