Counter Orbital Mechanics

Have you read Fallen Dragon by Peter Hamilton?

There's a planet that protects itself by putting so much junk in orbit that an invader would have to take a lot of casualties just to enter orbit.

There's a bit more to it than that but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it ;)

Sigg Oddra,

After reading Mr. Hamilton’s, I think it was, The Reality Dysfunction, the first 85% of which I thought was excellent, only to reach the point were the cool cutting-edge hard-SF (except for minimal psi, which I was willing to live with) book was ruined by the introduction of the summoning (via magic) of demonic possessor beings who operated by what appeared to be more magic, and me tossing the book across the room, I’ve avoided his stuff.

That’s my roundabout way of saying: I haven’t read Fallen Dragon.
