Core Rules book - wished it removed Psionics and added missing Pre-Career and Aliens

Oh and IMTU mitigationdifferent organizations hold expertise in different abilities. There is no one stop training outfit for all psionics, and most are heavily nationalist/tribal/cult like or otherwise lay on lifelong obligations for their training. They frown on having divided loyalties of those who seek multiple disciplines.

The lethal kind of frowning.

Anything recent have psionics?
Pern; Todd McCaffrey continued after his mother's death, most recent was 2018.
If we go back to the 00's, We get more Dune in lit, we get it in the ongoing movie trilogy, too.
OS Card's Ender Cycle. No humans with psi, but the Pequeniños and the buggers both have it. Wait, Ender and his sister might be
Star wars and star trek already mentioned; Vulcan Telepathy has been seen in almost all Trek series. The Burn was a Kelpian in the wrong spot, adn it amplified his native paranoia.

True, looking at EN World's Geek Media section, the lion's share of SF is Trek; though that begs the question, would you play Trek with Traveller?

No. Traveller's just too deadly for the style of Trek I like, and char gen too random. Even with the phaser rules to MgT2 off of ADB's downloads, still too deadly. I did a port of Trek to MegaTraveller back in summer 88. Didn't work well for me. CT, MT, MGT1, MGT2 could do it, but not to my satisfaction.

Systems I would use for Trek include Prime Directive 1e (built specifically for trek), LUG TNG/DS9/TOS, Modiphius' Star Trek Adventures. I've contemplated using WEG OpenD6, Cortex Plus/Prime, FATE, Shatterzone, and a few others... but STA and PD1 do what I need.

Tamsin Muir's Locked Tomb series is chock full of magic/psionics, both the Destiny and the Warframe are 10+ year CRPG/FPS franchises that are steeped in space magic/psionics (though Destiny may finally be dying), Warhammer 40K continues to do gangbuster numbers both in physical miniatures games, the CRPG/FPS space, lots and lots print fiction, though it's arguably struggled in the TTRPG space (note that 1e MgT tech had plenty of generic WH40k tech). There was also a trickle of Darkover stuff that was published after MZB's death, co/written by Deborah J. Ross.

Psionics is alive and well in SF space.

While not in the same space as the other works and creators mentioned, my PbP efforts and subsequent attempts at amateur SF have featured psionics.
A Day in the Life Gamestory (PbP that I ended up hijacking from @Spinward Scout :) )
Boughene Station Blues (continuation PbP with @Spinward Flow, @Hairy Jim DeGriz, and @rlmercad069)
You Signed Up for This (amateur SF, re-using a character from Boughene Station Blues)
Piers and the Wolf (more amateur SF, same ATU as above)
There were psionics? No wonder Vanderferker was getting headaches. 😜

No, my opinion is the majority, I just don't care. I admin an sf group with over 5k, there are a lot of sfrpg's with psionics, though the toxicity of Traveller people is over the top.
What is the nature of this toxicity you state exists in your opinion? I "think" I know because I have been playing it since '77, but I ask your opinion. I personally think most TTRPG and their "signature" campaigns are intrchangeable to varying degrees of success, not inseparable , which makes me a heretic in the eyes of many on this board but honey badger dont care. Want to play a Hero Kids / Third Imperium mashup? Or Traveller: The Masquerade? Im game...

The toxicity is Traveller people coming into the group and ripping on people, like a writer, ripping down Alternity while exclaiming they are a "Traveller person." There are a hundred others in the thread saying they love it. As far as gaming is concerned, people should play what they want, though I think that Traveller as super friends isn't that well supported, as Aramis states and is what is normal for most people, he wouldn't play Star Trek with Traveller. I like Traveller myself, its sort of gritty nature, skills, 2d6 that returns a more interesting mathematical curve than polyhedrals.

Technically, I won't do it again. I have done it. (Using MT for everything but ships; ships were CT Bk5-80)
I got 19,000 Td for the CA based upon the SFTM drawings.

If ADB manages to ever get their Traveller port written, I'll give it a shot.

Yeah, Those types really need to [self-censored]. They're bad for both groups.

I concur. Tho', I'll note, if I'm in the group, I won't stay if their choice of system, setting, and campaign conceit don't mesh well.

I would feel bad if anything I said had a negative effect, I think these are great!
