Consolidated MT design rules?

Murdoc

SOC-12
Has anyone ever combined all the MT design rules into one place, including watercraft, rockets, COACC, robots, etc.? That plus all the errata put in would be invaluable. Or would that not be covered by "fair use"? If not, I'd suggest if someone made it, send it to Marc and have him rubber-stamp it, maybe even charge some pittance for it if necessary.

I don't see how it would be easily done.

It is already a weird mix of Striker and High Guard without the different COACC and other rules.

It'd more like trying to mix oil and water.

Then you have the problem that the Wet Navy rules are pretty badly broken when it comes to designing ships prior to Tech Level 7 or so.

I could put it together in a couple hours. I have all of what you have listed, plus the Early Tech supplement MT formatted in word.

Well, they don't have to work together, just be in one place. Working together would be nice, obviously, but as you say, may require some decisions/compromises to take place, like what was done with MT Robots. We can leave that project for another day. ;)

That'd be awesome if you did! The hours saved from having to cross-reference the errata alone would be a huge help, as I'm sure you're already aware. I got the idea after reading page 2 of Don's consolidated errata, the part about Expansions and thought that it'd be great to not have to look that page up every time I want to design something outside the main rules, if it was all in one place. I don't know exactly how much trouble it'd be though given all the errata, and how many of the mags are likely not OCR'd, hence why I was asking here. But if you can do it, and can find the time, I'm sure many of us MT gearheads will be very appreciative!

Including all the errata? I'd LOVE a copy - especially since I'm slated to be the next referee once our current scenario ends.

The content isn't mine to give away.

I can however, walk you through the process and give you a list of everything that you need. (Some stuff is hidden away in the oddest places). I updated the design sequences in the Referee's manual in an afternoon.

There is a collection of Word Templates that will make your work look just like the printed copies over in the File section: Forms & Charts - MT Style Book Templates - Message #10.
(with the exception of those little squares in the corners - I never bothered with those.) I think I got them all in there - if not, post a note on the thread & I'll get it fixed.

You will need the following:
The MT CD-Rom - Referee's Manual, COACC, Hard Times (for Ch 15)
DonM's Errata (Note - Review errata from pg 43 forward here at COTI - DonM hasn't integrated all of it in the current (2.21 ed, dated 2-23-13) version. He has been very busy with that T5 thingie & the Mongoose Zho manual (pick it up, if you haven't already)
The T5 CD-Rom (for the fonts - optional, but I like them)
The Challenge CD-Rom for the following articles:
Wet Navy - Challenge - 53, 54, 61

Challenge 45: One Small Step (for the charts, the ones in Hard Times are not legible).
Challenge 49: When it's Lances, not Lasers (pg 45 has TL 0-2 weapons and a new skill (Shield) - Main Gauche skill is in Hard Times
Challenge 55 - Going Places (barely) Early Stellar Craft (With 12 TL9 ships that need updating.)
Challenge 61:
Wood & Wind, Steel & Steam (Early Tech Supplement)
Equalizer Project - (For Heavy High Velocity Gun charts on pg 18) - on the other hand, they are all wrong on both range & rate of fire. I think I sent DonM the corrections.

3 articles by Ken Pick (although DonM may have already added this in the errata):
Missing Links - Challenge 64
Advanced Lasers - Challenge 66
Personal Weapons - Challenge 67

Mercenary SuperMart - Challenge 68

Terry McInnes has 2 articles that I got from the Traveller Mailing List & the HIWG CD Rom:
COACC Outtake - Nuclear Weapons in COACC (submitted to Challenge Magazine - Never published) - Submitted to DonM a couple of years ago for inclusion in the errata.

Part 4 of Wet Navy - Nautical Character Generation (Advanced version) - HIWG article 2128 (also submitted to Challenge Magazine & never published)

I have no idea what the protocol on those 2 would be.

Looks like another article for Freelance Traveller:

"Rolling Your Own - Updating your manuals."
