Concentrated/Coordinated Fire?

I don't have my books with me, so I'll ask here. Is there a personal combat rule that allows coordinated or concentrated fire upon one target?

I know there's a "remote fire" rule, and it seems that this would be related to the topic of coordinated fire.

Anyone know?

Not that I've seen.

With the remote weapon the designator and actual weapon are resolved separately. Are you looking for a way of adding up all hits and resolving them together? I'd suppose thats similar to having twin or quad weapons?

I was thinking about Designators in particuluar, yes. While they're intended for Forward Observers, it seems that mass fire could be a valid tactic when trying to take down opponents. But, perhaps "mass fire" in personal combat is just everyone attacking the same guy, separately.

Reading the book a bit... Designators are used with Remote-capable weapons. Remote weapons are slaved to the Designator. But each weapon is a separate attack.

And... yes, I was thinking about a way of treating several attacks with one attack roll and summed damage: a personal combat analogue of how the CommCaster works. If guns can be Remote, then it seems they can deliver a tightly coordinated attack.

I think you're right that "mass fire" as you put it is handled as separate attacks.

Ages ago I was asking how one was supposed to design a twin machinegun and you pointed out that you could fit as many weapon as you wanted in a weapons mount as long as they respected the weight restrictions.

I've been doing this, making one attack role and multiplying the Hit Dice by the number of weapons. That of course assumes identical weapons, like a twin or quad mount. Different weapons in the same mount would be resolved separately in the same manner as designators and remote weapons.

That might be one way of getting the "summed damage" you're looking for.
