Don't know why people aren't using this excellent FREE program to set up battle display.

This is a quick hack, grabbing some miniature picts placing them on a grid

I've just downloaded it. They have the beginnings of some fantastic modules. I think I might have a look at knocking together a Brilliant Lances one. Or perhaps look again at the HG?? rules.

It has real potential (at least until battlegrounds wargame edition comes along).

Yes!! You can do a lot with this program. Its also a PBEM client so it records moves and has built in dice.

Here is another quick hack that I did at work here to show a ship boarding.

There are alot of tweaks you can do through the program, like have movement lines and individual info for each miniature.

LOTS OF POTENTIAL, AND ITS FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to try to put together one for fights aboard the basic traveller ships. Maybe we could have some online combat between a couple of people.

I want to try out the d20 combat with miniatures.

Also the Bits 'At Close Quarters' system... I found it cumbersome with table top figures and dice but maybe with this it may work better.

Do you have to be connected to the net for this or can you install it on a laptop and use it while playing at the table?

No you don't have to be connected to the internet.
You could use it just as a display board, but you could also track dice rolls and damage.

I know it also has a built in LOS (Line of Sight) feature (it was originally made to play AH Squad Leader).

Also there is a range finder that you could set up to measure distance for fire or movement.
