SOC-12
The Emperor contribution to the history of cards was huge. Cleon I added twelve cards to deck and rename the former royal flush cards and wild cards.
The cards added were the Emperor which is the highest in the deck. The Baron which is the lowest royal card. The Cold Sleep which is the lowest card in the deck. Two null cards were added the Void sometimes called Deep Space and Imperium. The Archduke which is sometimes called the Captain replaced the Ace. The Duke occasionally called the Lieutenant replaced the King. The Queen was replaced with the Count or Pilot card. The Jack was either split in two or the Baron card added as the Emperor gave conflicting answers when asked. But it generally believe the Jack was replaced by the Marquise which is also called the Engineer. The Baron or Owner card ends the royal suit which above the Ten Card.
The Void and Imperium, which are null, cards are worthless and just place holder cards except when two hands have matching power and a null card in each hand the Imperium takes precedence.
The wild cards were renamed to Jump Space and MisJump with the latter being higher.
The suits became Coins or Gold, Ships, Freight, and Marines. The Marines suit is the one most often change. Various versions exist to include Navy, Army, Merchant, Military and others.
Cleon I created the cold sleep pot. The cold sleep pot is started when either a cold sleep card is played face up or is in a winning hand. All players add one chip of the smallest denomination to the cold sleep pot. The pot grows every time a cold sleep card is shown. If a player wins the hand with two or three of kind cold sleeps he does not have to add to sleep pot. The pot is won when a player has four a kind cold sleeps and wins the hand. The plot grows until won. However some variation do exist. The pot maybe be given to charity at the end of play, or given to player who when broke first. One version has the pot being split between all the players at the end of night. In 621 The Casino Royal paid out eight mega credits to a Hunter Dougherty who won fifth place in Emperor invitational poker championship. Hunter walked away with seven and half more mega credits than the winner Trader Jim Miller who won the championship and took away one mega credit. The cold sleep pot had not been won in twenty years.
