Challenge 25 was the first issue of Challenge. GDW continued the numbering of JTAS but changed the name and format of the magazine when they went to Challenge.
Ah, that explains it. I barely knew of Traveller back in the 1980s.
The majority of the people at the 3 game stores in Biloxi and Gulfport were playing d&d games or some SF board games.

As mentioned, JTAS ran issues 1 through 24. Challenge Magazine ran issues 25 through 77, and then abruptly ended publication between issues 77 and 78 when GDW went out of business in 1996 (~year?).
I've heard rumors that SJG began publishing their own version of CM, but I can't find it on their website.
At least we learned the identity of The Lady In Black.

SJG published JTAS online for their Traveller tenure.
The full GT-JTAS Online came on a Clip Flash Drive with my copy of Grognard from the Kickstarter.
Marc hasn't put it up for sale to the general public yet.
