The Canopus sector of the OTU is one of the least detailed sectors in cannonical material. I'd wish to develop it myself (1105 stats and, later, 1248 stats), but first I think I should look on what is given in cannon.
Donald McKinney's Sector Information Page, which IMHO is one of the better sources of information about traveller cannon, doesn't list Canopus at all.
GDW's Atlas of the Imperium (1984) doesn't get as rimward as Canopus is.
AM5 - Droyne (1985) doesn't get as rimward as Canopus is in its Droyne Worlds in charted Space map (inside back cover).
AM6 - Solomani (1986) shows two Solomani settements in the Canopus sector in -2204 in its "The Terran Confederation" map (inside back cover).
Megatraveller's Referee's Manual (1987) shows that Canopus was not part of the First Imperium (p.104) or of the Rule of Man (inside back cover).
Hard times (1991) shows Canopus as a Safe in all of its maps.
Solomani and Aslan (1991) has a large-scale political map, showing that there are four polities in Canopus in 1120 - the Solomani Confederacy, the Botherhood of Trita, the Juresdiction of Nadon and the Malorn Union; their 1120; borders are also given (p.10). This book also has a "dot-map" showing star-system locations (but nothing else) in various sectors, incuding Canopus (p.11). A single world in Canopus - Sulawesi/Nanfeg (1025 Canopus D6846A6-8) - is detailed as well in two paragraphs (p.11).
All pre-Virus maps in Survival Margin (1993) show Canopus as "Non-Imperial Space"; The New Era map in that book (p.85) lists Canopus as Wilds.
1248: Out of the Darkness (2006) shows Canopus as a Wilds area. also, on p.30, this book speaks of Aslan Ihatei incrusions into Canopus in 1125-1132, and of the dissolution of the entire spinward side of the confederacy (which includes canopus) by that time.
