Call for Authors

Well I've set up and created a site that I am happy with, and would like some contributions for the various different Traveller settings presented. So if you've got any spare adventures or adventure seeds hanging around or even some deck plans, ship stats or npcs you'd like to share with the community then send me an email.

I will combine the best of them into a downloadable PDF which will be offered free of charge to the community from my site.

Any help would be appreciated.

There's even forums you can join.

Drax,

Children of Earth? Is this in reference to Harold Hale's 'Gabreelist'(sic) TNE setting? If so, will that setting by required?

Have fun,
Bill

Feel free to use my setting and rules (in my sig) as well as my ship designs and deckplans (in these forums and my blog).

I've joined, but it may be a while before I get a chance to contribute. Chaosium's Deluxe Basic Roleplaying playtest is underway! Expect to see a lot of d100 traveller conversions this summer ...

Thanks for the Input Guys

The Children of earth Setting has got nothing to do with TNE so that setting will not be needed - unless of course you want to be supported on the site, in which case I will be happy to do so.

The COE universe is set some five hundred years or so in humanity's future. After centuries of political turbulence and a devastating war with a previously friendly alien species that resulted in the destruction of the Terran Biosphere, humanities remaining colonies have banded together to form the Colonial Administration. The CA was initially successfull in uniting mankind with a common purpose, that of defeating the alien 'Klicks'. Now that the war has been won and the Klicks are now extinct, the CA reorganised itself into a peactime administration called the Stellar Commonwealth, though has began to fragment into its component parts of The Human Hegemony, The Rim Confederation and The Sirius Cartel, and the smaller unions of former economic and commercial colonies as breakaway states such as the Trans-European federation, The Orion Concordance and the Piscean Axis.

At present the Human Hegemony is wracked by civil war. Humanity is threatened not just by the many and various alien cultures out there, but by his own creations, the genetically engineered Geni who are overwhelming the Commonwealth's ability to cope with so many diverse threats.

In this background you will find

Multiple Faster Than Light drives
Intelligent Robots and AI
Cybernetics
Nano-Tech & MEMS
Opportunities for Trade and Adventure between the Stars.
Unlimited Exploration - No star map required
Implant Technology
Memory and Personality Transfer between different bodies and machines/robots
DNA upgrades/Engineering

And lots, lots more.... all in a hard science setting.

Do you like idea of it.

Drax,

Let's stop right there so things don't get confusing.

Harold Hale published a very detailed TNE-era setting called Children of Earth in a Traveller fan magazine in the mid-90s.

Your CoE may have nothing to do with TNE, but the first and, until now, only setting I knew about called CoE was Harold Hale's TNE-era setting.

I enjoyed reading the synopsis of your CoE setting. It would be nice if that was available at your site. It would be even better if the fact that, despite having the same names, your setting isn't Hale's setting was made evidently clear clear at the site as soon as people arrived.

Have fun,
Bill

Until Today I had no knowledge whatsoever of Hales setting, none at all, yep nothing...

Tis the curse of the writer. At present I've something like 60,000 words in print regarding my detailed setting it will be available free of charge at the site when I am happy with the background and have finished cross checking the manuscripts for inconsistencies. This is why I bought the domain name and the web hosting account. I also love Traveller, so I thought I would do something nice for the community on the site, hence the look and feel and attention given to traveller.

Finally I have opend the site to the public earlier than expected because of fears expressed on these boards that QLI might not be here much longer due to Hunter's problems plus the known facts that web hosting for the bandwidths taken up by QLI can cost a fortune, obviously whilst hunter is away those costs must stil be coming from his far from limitless bank account.

In order to try and prevent an otherwise dynamic and talented community of Traveller fans from disapeering overnight should the worst happen, i.e. one day we might point our browser at Travellerrpg and find nothing, the site having shut down. I have opened the web site early, about 6 months too early. I was planning to fill it with lts of content I've recently written but fortunatly for me other publishers have bought it, hence the call for authors. I will soon have an introduction to the Children of earth available as a playtest pdf file for download.

As I've said I will be happy to support Hales TNE background if anyone wants me to and can send me the information I need.

First and foremost, The Children of Earth website is a Traveller website, with a small section devoted to my own game in the making.

Drax,

Downloaded it and am reading it now! Your idea of mixing Traveller and THS should create lots of goodies. :)

Thanx!

Have fun,
Bill
