Hello all, I'm only familiar with BA and CW of 2300AD, but if they are the same as in Traveller 2300, I'd have to say that the combat walkers are pretty useless. Their body armor is pretty well thought of, except being too heavy, considering their advanced materials. At least in 2300AD combat walkers are undergunned and under armored.
With enough armor to take smallarms fire, but not enough to tackle say 20mm anti-materiel rifle, they are really not that practical. And with advanced Guided LAW munitions all over the place, you'd never get me into one of those things.
Their personal bodyarmor is quite adequate, but no-one is going to carry 20kg of BA+gear into combat.
