Bob Wilkins', Bay Area 70s TV icon

Hey all; this is particularly for you San Francisco and Sacramento Travellers out there, or anyone who remembers the great Bob Wilkins' Creature Feature show that used to air late at night in the 1970s. The loads of cheesy horror and sci fi movies he'd show kept me up many a night.

Bob has his own website now, but he's not in the best of health. If you grew up with Bob, and are concerned about him, then you might want to read the following link;

I normally don't post stuff like this, but I wouldn't be a sci-fi fan without two people in my life; my father, and Bob Wilkins. They made me the Traveller I am today :)

Captain Cosmic Too

He was the guy that played cartoons for us on Oakland channel 2. He was the first guy playing Anime in the Silicon Valley market. And a great memory from my childhood

I remember when we first got an Oakland channel on cable in Bradenton. I was thrilled to see a California TV station in Florida and the first show I saw was Captain Cosmic, and that was my introduction to Star Blazers and anime. Later on I happened to see one of the Creature Features and I loved every minute of it.

Sad to see him so sick. My Girlfriend's Dad ( and he was like my dad too) passed away from Altzheimers Disease. I'll sure contribute.

Thank you so much.

Thanks guys. That means a lot to me. I sent a little something off in the mail this morning.

Star Blazers came to me as well via Bob Wilkins as Captain Cosmic. A very cherished memory.
