Best CT One Shot for new GM

I like "night of conquest" for this.

Is a quick action adventure and not a dungeon crawl, but, OTOH, it has less science-fiction aspects than most...

76 Patrons has some good ideas, you can alter them to make them more interesting for modern gamers. I find a lot of the classic adventures a bit lame and dated personally. Just add some intrigue, a good NPC - maybe an alien one like a Vargr or Aslan, some sort of combat and spaceship flight, and you are away.

On the other hand, today's conceptions of what's possible with handheld personal radios/computers may break the scenario as designed.

Shadows is one my favourites, it has a sort of D&D 'exploring an ancient dungeon full of traps and gribblies' feel to it. It can be especially tense due to the corrosive atmosphere setting a time limit on the explorer's vacc suits.
Shadows is a great adventure that was play tested at Winter War in Champaign Illinois by Marc Miller.

It reminds me of the movie Prometheus a little bit.
