AVP stats?

Horatius

Long ago, a JTAS printed the stats for the Xenos in the Alien/Predator series. Has anyone ever done sats for the Predators?

I've done a fairly detailed analysis of the Predator's biology, physiology and culture. (I.E. A biochem major, my sociologist wife and me watched the entire series and took notes.)

Incidentally, if anyone has the JTAS article, I'd love to see it.

As an animal encounter, or as an alien with UPP stats?

If you already have the notes on culture, physiology, psychology, etc., then I think the answer can be created fairly easily by starting with the Aslan as a template. In fact, I don't imagine that the stat modifiers would need to deviate from the Aslan at all, though you'd probably want to replace the natural Dewclaw skill (as per Dagger) with Claws. The main difference that you'd want to factor in is their functional atmospheric temperature range -- they take significant physical penalties at any temperature below about 100 degrees F.

Really, it's not the stats that make up the Predators, it's the physiology, psychology, and sociology, and you've already done the legwork on all that. :)

I'm not crazy about the ORE mechanic, but Mariner looks extremely cool.
I apologise for the continued digression, but...thanks! I had forgotten that I still had the ORE version up. With the revelation of the Mongoose deal, MARINER has taken a turn back in the CT direction. Just waitin' on that SRD to come down the pike...

AVP stats

Looks awesome..

I actually enjoyed the first one..but I thought they were gonna have that Alien/predator guy in this movie..or atleast show what happened in that ship at the end of AVP.

funny, just two days ago I was thinking about something similar. okay, that was just after watching Predator 2 again (which in my opinion is the better one of the two and has a fantastic plot for a game session)
years ago I found an online sourcebook for the old Marvel Superheroes RPG from the 80s and lo! it's actually still online...

not so great on stats (it was for a different rpg after all) but some usable hints for abilities and background.

A Little Work by GM

Google GURPS COLONIAL MARINES. that will give you a Predator in GURPS format. Then take your GURPS TRAVELLER and reverse engineer the stats to CT, MT or NE (Even T4) as needed as rules for conversion to GURPS for those systems are within.
