Aslan claws... something that has bothered me for 20 years

Far trader is right they are NOT cats, they come from a NON-terran eco-systerm and proir to acdental first contact with the crue of the "pathfinder" in -2013IC (2505AD)had never had contact with anything of non-Kusyu biology.
also if you look at the Trokh (Aslan lanwage) word construstion charts there is not a posibility for a meow purr or most other cat like noises and there are lots of amamals hear on earth that use sillmer hunting teneques to cats that are-not feline.
so like maney before you your terranasentric veiws continue the missconception

Some seem to forget Kyusu isn't Terra.

Nature will use ANYTHING that works, and is only concerned with the species that can reproduce. That's it.

Evolution on Kyusu occured on KYUSU! Not Terra!! Fteirle won the evolutionary race on Kyusu, primates on Terra.

Pouncers and runners also pounce/run/walk on the balls of their feet. The thumb isn't involved in any way.

Perhaps the Aslan thumb is used to brace objects against? You don't need a dextrous thumb to use as a backstop.

How often do you use your thumb for anything more than an assist for the fingers, of which you have four?

And how many think the pinky is a waste of space?

IMTU all the races come for earth.

Just ask SolSec, they will explane how this happened :D

And if you don't like the answer, SolSec will take care of that to.

The Zho's Thought Police have nothing on SolSec for making you think the Party way.

Aslan are so much like Terran cats or lions, I've known several GM's who have made them actually decended therefrom, like the Vargr were. To many logical, scientific type GM's, it's just the only logical explanation. Otherwise their extreme resemblance to terran cats is simply silly.

And if you look at that cover from AM: Aslan, they DO look like humans in cat suits. They should have made them uplifted lions, or they should have made them more alien.

The only way that Aslans have been 'cat like' in MTU is that they 'look' cat like. The play of Aslan in MTU has been more like Shogun Era feudal Japan in 'cat suits'. The closet I have seen any play Aslan as 'cat like' was if the GM was a fan of CJ Cherryh (Hani) or L Niven (Kzin).

Agreed with wolfman.

I've not seen players in my groups do anything resembling catlike behaviours.

They know that that is not what's written, so they avoid it.

The author of H&I and I got into a real heated discussion years ago on the TML about how badly done H&I was, because it tried to make them characatures, rather than a well thought out alien race that would take thought to play right.

T20 also lacks a strong committment to aliens as aliens, especially since d20 usually portrays aliens as man-in-suit or non-playable monster.
