Are Darrians and humans the same species?

I missed almost all of the discussions and flamewars of the last forty years, so I'm betting my question has been "discussed" to conclusion. What is the consensus?
See, reading up on Darrian biology, their hips are different from Terran humaniti, and they have a twelve month gestation cycle. Presuming other non cosmetic differences, are offspring viable?
"Well yeah, since most 3I era Darrians can claim Turkish ancestry." Which isn't what I mean. Do I have to rewrite Darrian biology to make them compatible with humans?

IIRC from published materials, many "Darrian" traits are effectively "recessive" .

I don't remember where, but ITTR having read somewhere, probably on some article about the Solomani Hypotesis or the Anciens that Vilani (and latter Terrans too) had always wondered where did all those interfertile humans in other stars came from (and I specifically remember the use of the word).

So, yes, I udnerstand all human subspecies are interfertile among them, even if not directly.

And with this "not directly" I mean there may be other problems, as, to put en example, it would be if you try to breed a chihuahua dog with a great dane... Yet, through more average sized descendants they may have fertile offspring.

I've alwas thought that, in current technical terms, that would make humans, elves and orcs subgroups the same specie...
