Anyone ever convert races from video games?

So, I recently caught myself wondering exactly how one would go about stating up the koopas from the Super Mario Bros. series as a race in Traveller. (In my defense, it was 4:30 in the morning and I was running on about twenty minutes' worth of sleep courtesy of a bout with the flu. It was the sanest thing in my brain at that point.)

Now that I've recovered a bit, I've found myself wondering: has anyone else used races from video games in a Traveller campaign? Or am I alone on this one?

The Kilrathi are already taken care of, effectively.

Not interested in Tyr... Zerg, and the Protoss are a bit to high magic/psi for default Traveller.

Star Fox should be obvious.

Traveller has a race of "little" Tyranosaurs who hail from Julian space coreward of the Imperium. They are known as the Hkhar.

Ooh, the Zerg! But, I think those would use the animal maker rules. And of course we already have the Chamax.

Many have statted up the critter from Alien, and even the Space Jockeys.

The rubber suited aliens from Star Wars would be simple. Jabba would require the animal rules for most editions of Traveller, excepting Traveller5 perhaps.

Shameless plugs: Traveller5 gives us rules for creating aliens. Mongoose Traveller has some helpful guidelines as well.

Puppeteers could be modeled after Hivers, modified a bit.

Hmm, interesting. Is that in the basic rules manual? I have a few books on alien building, and I am always interested in more data.

Yes, it is. The book is quite thick, you know...

Traveller 5's sophont creation system builds aliens specifically for Traveller player characters; extremely large -- or fantastically small -- or exceptionally exotic -- sophonts would need extended rules (and there are rules for that, but not in the core rulebook). So the sophonts generated are in the spectrum including the Major Races, and are typically ones humans can interact with without major problems. These aliens could conceivably be run through character generation and can be played by players.

As a side note, I used the Traveller5 sophont creation rules to design the alien races for Mongoose's Deneb Sector book, and then ported them into Mongoose's system for the book itself.

That probably is sufficient to justify purchasing Traveller 5 when it comes out. I give talks to writing classes on how to build realistic aliens. And I keep thinking about an intelligent sea otter, having seen them operate in the wild. And now there is the halfling, although I think that I can work that up within the existing books.
