"Andromeda," T20 style.

If there's anyone in the Denver area interested in playing an "Andromeda" campaign, I'm working on the background and am looking for players.

The rules will remain essentially the same; however, OTU purists may object to what I am doing. For instance, all of the tech will remain the same-- but, there are some paranormal events that will take place (i.e. the God of the Abyss, transdimensional aliens, riding the event horizon of a black hole, etc.)

I am setting the campaign before the fall of the Systems Comonwealth, and players do not have to be in the High Guard if they don't want to. This leaves us the option of speculative trading, research and development, exploration, etc.

If you watch the show, then you understand the background.

Anyone interested, e-mail me at: Orionruse@comcast.net

So you want to start a campaign set in M31, the great Andromeda Galaxy which is 2.2 million light years away? Well the Andromeda galaxy is twice as big as the Milky Way. Are you going to have humans in this Galaxy? My guess is they probably got there in fleets of interstellar ramjets equipped with Jump Drives. Your going to need 134,969 Jumps with a Jump-5 ramjet, and it should take 1,848 years to get there using this technology. I guess those cold berths will really come in handy.

Actually, I believe he's referring to the Andromeda TV series. The Systems Commonwealth covered 3 galaxies including the Milky Way.

You'll have to develop slip stream. Probably FFS would give the best leads for doing it.

I actually use avatars in my fallen imperium universe and they work nicely.

I am indeed referring to the "Andromeda" T.V. series.

One of the biggest challenges I am working on is with slipstream related skills and feats. Pilots like Beka have a better understanding (maybe even better luck) traversing the slipstream than others. Other factors, like Trance helping Telemechus also seem to be a factor (Though Beka nearly could'nt keep up).

From my understanding, the more a slipstream route is travelled, the easier it becomes to make good distance/time to another portal.

As was mentioned in an early first season episode: -- "Slipstream: it's not just any way to travel, it's the only way to travel."

If you have any suggestions, do'nt hesitate to throw them in.
