In your TU, do humans have sex with aliens?

In the Star Trek canon, not only do they (AND DO THEY) but they are cross-fertile

I assume nobody in their right mind would allow cross-race fertility but do you BELIEVE that this would occur?

It is very different for human/human, even across vast cultural gaps but human/non-human?

Is it strictly forbidden, regarded as a sickness, an eccentricity perhaps?

In short, is it unusual, immoral, illegal?

Or maybe between humanoids only? (Aslan/Human fine, Virushi/Human YOWZA!, Human/Newt Ewwwww!)

Then we get into the issues of Human/Hiver relationships. Would the Hiver be curious to try "humanizing". Their cloaca would suffice for human males. And their extra-flexible tentacle fingers open up many possibilities for either sex

But I shall leave that for another time

IMTU, yes, it's possible. Crossbreeds are not though because of different #'s of chromosones and all that technomumbojumble. As far as morality, yes, it's accepted on most worlds, but there's other systems where it's still a no no. Think black and whites, America, 1980's.

I suppose that IMTU it's possible, but not generally discussed on most worlds where it happens. Most worlds where it doesn't, they don't generally know of it to discuss it.

Strange that there seem to be very few canonical female Vargr characters (that I know of).

Or the crew in Knightfall (MT)? One Human-male ex-Scout, a Sol-human female, a Vilani-female, and a female Vargr....
That makes two lady vargr...

I believe the term yer looking for is "Xenorasty" (from pederasty, only with Xenomorphs/ alien races), making it with other species. That would still be a taboo in the 56th century. As with RV, IMTU, it happens. The species of both sides frown on it, as a rule-"what? couldn't find one of your own to that with?"

Narrow minded? no. Not something ya do on yer homeworld. The Imperium might stand fer a lot of things, and treating sophonts equally, etc as member races, entering the services..Now darrian-Humans, okay.

The cross fertility thing is another reason why ST is a big-bad influence on RPing aliens...
(humans in funny suits). Minor human races with each other, okay.
Different types of Vargr with each other, ok.
But the chromosomes/ etc would be too much to overcome.

On an R & R world, maybe...(if ye got reeeeeaaaal hammered on Scout Brew)

If it's possible, people will try it. After all, in the real world, some people do it with animals, which has no purpose other than self-gratification. But interfertility? No way. Even some of the sub-races of Humaniti are probably too far diverged (in Star Trek it's different - all the aliens are obviously humans with pasties on their foreheads/pointy ears/crinkly noses/really bad haircuts).

Fortunately, I've never yet known a player to try...

The player who tried it definitely watched too much ST (any version).
, strange those exotic sex. transmitted diseases fer aliens...kinda fatal in humans.. last we saw of him, he was headed for Core to seek a cure.
