AHL errata and/or variants

I'm looking for errata or variants based on the Azhanti High Lightning close combat game...

NOT deck plans. Rules, errata, or extra items.
Thanks in advance.

IIRC AHL uses a combat system which is very similar to Striker; chances are that, if you have both, you could easily convert most Striker weapons/armor/equipment to AHL. I think that the main issue would be to convert weapon ranges, as Striker is designed for large-scale (comparatively) land combat, and AL deals with close-quarters combat. other than that, the penetration and other weapon/armor ratings would probably be the same.

Just FYI, from what I understand (from reading various entries in my JTAS collections), some at GDW felt Striker was too cumbersome, so they did a re-write--which is Azhanti High Lightning.

That's my impression, anyway. AHL is a sleeker version of Striker.

OTOH, I've always felt that Striker should be used for exterior combat, and if the troops ever moved to clear a house or whatnot, AHL should be used. IIRC, it's two turns of AHL rounds to one turn of Striker....I think.

Let's not forget Snapshot, too, which is really just a tactical-action-point version of the character combat rules in original Traveller.

Of course, that leaves Classic Traveller with three versions of interior combat: RPG rules; Snapshot; and AHL.

S4 - you're dead on. The CITW guys around here did all of the miniatures playtesting for GDW, so they would know, and basically Snapshot, Striker, and AHL were built and rebuilt between Greg Novak, Frank Chadwick and Tom Harris; interestingly, Command Decision came along, and then Striker II (TNE), to finish the game lineage.

Supposedly there are some drafts of an AHL-2 somewhere here in Illinois, according to vicious rumor. Unfortunately, Frank won't be at WW this year for me to badger him about it.

I was given another part of the picture last week...

Turns out that after AHL was developed, they started developing ATC - Advanced Traveller Combat. Now this supposedly was developed pretty far, and then was "converted" into the combat system presented in MegaTraveller.

My response was "Did someone leave a few pages out", and the answer was "several".

OUCH.
