Anyone done up stats for personal flying machines like a jetpack or aerobike?

Small jet engines are getting more powerful and fuel efficient. While the original Bell Rocket belt only had a 20 second duration, there are now small turbofans that can provide several hundred pounds of thrust for long periods of time with weights that are managable for a person. Seems like a reasonable jet pack coult be doable in the very near future.

Low tech grav belt.

Yep. Moller's been working on tht thing for 20 years at least. I remember the ads in 'Popular Mechanics' for his sky car when I was in high school.

I was more interested in personal transportation. I want to build a jet pack, but my wife won't let me. I even have some plans. But what I really need is a small jet engine with about 300-400 lbs thrust. Justifying the expense is tricky.

This one is close to what I need.

But I only need half the thrust, and a smaller size would be nice. Look what they could do in 1969:

and that one had a 27 minute flight time!

Yep. Except it's too big and SoloTrek went out of business.

I did pick up plans for a small jet engine on ebay.

Hmmmmm.

Doing a search for millenium Jet points back to solotrek's webpage, which is gone. Can anyone poit me to another websoite, or is the Millenium Jet really dead (I hear they are selling the prototype as long as the buy promises not to fly it).
