2000-dTon Tailsitter Packet Transport

NOTE: This ship was designed with Mongoose 2ed High Guard Update 2022 and is not valid under LBB rules. :)

Hello,

Lately, several people have been posting some tailsitter style ships. I have had a tailsitter design on my to-do list for ages. I designed it for a campaign I ran last year.

The Hefry Class Packet Transport is a jump-1, manoeuvre-2, 2000-dTon vessel capable of carrying 1216 tons of cargo. It was deliberately designed at TL10 because that was the TL of the originating shipyard in Hefry's Dregs (Hinterworlds 1040) in my campaign. Besides, lower tech ships need some representation!

The ship is heavily armed, but unarmored. That was a deliberate choice to prioritize cargo capacity over armor.

A special thanks to Robert Pearce for the use of his ship symbols, and a shout out to Eric B Smith who separated out the grid background. Check them out at:

The look of the ship was inspired by the art of Arne Niklas Jansson. Check out his work at https://www.androidarts.com/

Some of the ideas for the crew was inspired by Robert Heinlein's classic young adult novel, "Citizen of the Galaxy."

As always, feedback is welcome.

Citizen of the Galaxy, a great read. Thorby's first enemy engagement with missiles is a real knuckle biter.

Nice ship, even though I'm not a tail-sitter kind of guy. But I have been thinking of incorporating the family/trader ship culture into my campaign.
