World Gen program

Tarrien

SOC-6
I created a Homeworld generator that is still under construction but I thought I'd put it out for comments.

It currently generates the home system star with Habitable zone variance, the UWP and Homeworld Skills based on Trade Codes. It also calculates the Tech Level along with Navy & Scout bases.

It may have problems on some systems. It requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 and Microsoft Office Access 2007 database engine. Here is a link to the DB engine for 32 bit systems. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255

I built the program as 32 bit so as to reach the most hardware out there.

Currently there is no close button (use the X) or print feature. Anyway this should help speed up character generation.

The program is at: http://wirescepterdesigns.com\travgensetup.zip

I have not done a lot of testing on the trade codes so let me know if any need to be corrected.

I am looking forward to the expanded version that does an entire solar system. THAT would be an invaluable gm tool.

How does T5 BBB differ from basic LBBook 3/MT/TNE/T4 and expanded LBBook 6/MT/TNE?

In older versions you rolled on a table to get enough info for the starport and homeworld skills. In T5 you have to create the home system star, find the orbit of the homeworld, factor in a variance to see if it is in the sweet spot orbit or +/- band which changes the climate. This info all funnels into the Trade Codes for the homeworld which dictate which homeworld skills you get. Then again there is the Flux roll that is new to T5.

For those who don't have the book yet this is a special roll to add a "random" factor to the process. Two different color D6 dice are rolled with one as a positive value and one as a negative value. They get added together to generate a number between -5 to +5. Sometimes this value is a die mod to the actual table roll and sometimes it is the actual table roll.

I have to say this is the MOST complex set of Traveller rules yet. Let's put it this way; the Starship generation section is 50+ pages.
