When was the last time you did it?

When was the last time you played Traveller (any version) face to face?

I've never actually played Trav face to face. It's my darling system but I'm not exactly in a location where pulling a group together would be easy, and I've got a decent group together for an online game anyway, so...

play by post gaming

I am currently in one on-line Traveller game and have been lucky enough to play in several other Traveller games in the past few years.
However, I have not had a FTF Traveller game since CT was the only system on the market. That being said I have played ‘with’ creating characters and even played several adventures both old and new.

1) Have kids.
2) Wait twelve years.
4) Play every week!

Oops. Missed out a step (3) Groom them carefully for SF, take them to see new SF films, watch old TV shows, prepare them with the correct 'imagery'.

I have group of three (including the ref, me) who meet every two Mondays or so (given family schedules, sick kids, work, and that darned Minnesota weather, we sometimes delay things for a week or so...)

Now that I'm gaming again, after a 15+ year hiatus, if I don't get my gaming 'fix' every few weeks, I drive the wife crazy...

And now two of us are trying to squeeze in a few space battles every so often...

Hmm, I don't want to take the wind out of your sails, Mithras, but I have a suspicion you'll find:

5) Wait three years
6) Kids discover alcohol and dating
7) Stop playing Traveller. :(

However, I'd like to think we can all benefit from:

1) Play Trav at college
2) Work 40 years
3) Retire
4) Play every week

I haven't had a FtF game since the mid eighties, but I have 4 online PbP games that I post to daily, one of which has been running for over 5 years. Two of them are Mongoose based and the other two are ostensibly CT, but are actually so freeform that the edition doesn't really matter.
It seems to me that Traveller hasn't died, it's metamorphosed. It's no longer a pencil and paper game but a screen and keyboard game.

Adapt and Survive!

It's highly likely that 6 is unrelated to 7, and 7 is a 50-50 shot, unless it's changed to "Stop playing Traveller with you."

It was actually 2 weeks ago (not enough granularity on the choices) many groups play twice a month (every other week). All but one of the players are new to Traveller. The one player had last played t20. They all had their first taste of Traveller Char Gen. We used Mongoose Traveller, and will be converting to Traveller Hero. We had a kind of prologue adventure. This Saturday will be the first real game.

Oh yeah, the whole thing is set in The New Era 1248. It should a ton of fun

I am currently running the campaign "Hard Times" with my usual group of players. Every Sunday afternoon.

After facing Prateria Honshu, they travel to Jedell (though not yet know they will work Feme)

My 1248 T5 campaign has been in hiatus for over a year. The reason is because most of my players are deployed to Afghanistan.

They should be back in April. My campaign (and corresponding blog) will recommence at that time.......

I had to look at my posts to find out that I last played Traveller in 2008! I clicked "a year ago" since that choice bothered me less than "five years ago". My gaming group seems to prefer some silly game about dungeons. :(

On my list of reasons for postponing a game, "my players are fighting in an ex-Soviet republic" is the number two. The first is "I have a girlfriend. "
