Visualising the data

This isn't really an art or CGI thing. As an off-shoot of my wrestling T5 data from various sources I have been attempting to visualise how it all comes together.

The sectors and subsectors are no problem. I like the maps and PDF prints and booklets. They are a work of art in themselves if nothing else.

This leads me to system data. Stars, Orbits, moons and the rest of it. Rather than try and sketch out huge images with circular templates in GIMP, I opted for using a spreadsheet.

This is what I have come up with so far. The way LibreOffice rendered the columns needs tweaking, but this one page PDF allows me to see a system, its main world data and a run down of each world orbiting the star. The biggest section of the page is a quick "diagram" of the system, the orbits and respective moons.

Not perfect, but very helpful.

Oh lordy! I have just had a thought. If I compile the system data into a csv file, I could mail merge or reformat it somehow in this structure... :CoW:

Okay, I have been working on my 'method' of making the data work for me.

After much hunting and using the T5 WebApps, the Eaglestone tools, and some faffing about I ended up with a system document I am happy-ish with.

Much gratitude to those who have put in the man hours to get those site and that data crunched.

15 more of these and I have one sector!! 15 more sectors to go....
