Sydite Brute Squad
Since Traveller uses Dexterity for all weapon attacks, Sydites are at a disadvantage in melee combat. Their upper arms have all the Strength but only have 1/2 the Dexterity, resulting in attack penalties of -2. Since the lower arms have 1/2 the Strength, they will usually have damage penalties with melee weapons.
Also, the LAG requires a Strength of 14 to fire without penalty. The green Sydite only has a Strength of 13, and if he uses the upper set of arms he has a -4 attack penalty (-2 Str + -2 Dex), and a -2 penalty with the lower set. All the other Sydites have a -2 penalty with either set of arms when firing a LAG (a Dex penalty when using upper arms, -2 for Str < 14 in lower arms).
Sydites seem to have nothing but disadavantages as characters, and are a poor choice as "Brutes".
If I wanted an intimidating brute, I would have chosen an Ursa, since the melee combat bonuses outweigh the penalties, and a 2.5 meter tall 450 kilogram Ursa would certainly intimidate me.
