Would it be possible to add systems together that had say ImXX and get a result? for that matter it would be really interesting to see the results of CsIm

Another question I have while here is, could it be possible to have a simple distance function? I did my best to hand count the distance in parsecs between Terra/Sol and Neumann/Trojan Reach, for the purposes of calculating the time it would take a NAFAL drive get there, IMTU Neumann was settled by Terrans from before the discovery of jump drive. As it happened, they left after the expedition that settled the rift islands but arrived at Neumann before the Islands cluster was settled. Yay experimental NAFAL.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "add systems together", but the user Nathan Brazil has done a lot of work along those lines already, for example calculating populations of all minor races in the T5SS, or how many amber and red zones there are in different parts of the Imperium.

As in, get an exact value of how many Imperial systems there are behind the red curtain *grin* Or in the other case, just how many client states of the Imperium there are. Or how many systems there are in the Spinward Marches. The Second Survey page on the wiki says the SM has 272 systems and 304 worlds but I don't think that includes non-ImXX worlds. aren't there like 439, 440 systems in the SM?

How many Imperial systems there are: the Second Survey page on the wiki already shows that: 8976. And, indeed, that number of 272 is only for the Imperial worlds of the Spinward Marches - note the intro section of the page, which says: "The second comprehensive survey of the Imperium". Also note that the in-universe Second Survey is not the same as the Traveller 5 Second Survey.
