I would say that most of the artwork there still deserves much mockery, even if the commentators are "extremely ignorant about the subject matter". Perhaps you do not have the sense of humour to appreciate that commentary though?

And perhaps you should stop seeing insults where there are none? If you were not amused by the commentary, then you evidently do not have the sense of humour to appreciate it. There is no insult or attack there at all.

As the OP said, it is good to step back and laugh at ourselves and what we obsess about sometimes.

Humour is very subjective. And I'm afraid that your comment could easily be construed as an insult.

Though one could argue that Aramis' initial (apparently negative) comment here is actually "thread-crapping". The rules are strangely silent about that topic though.

I will publicly note that I have received an "infraction" for my post. I reject this completely, and I am disgusted at this treatment.

Given that I clearly explained that it was not intended as such and that the moderators have taken it the wrong way, why should I receive an "infraction"? So even something that could be taken as an insult (even though it is very clearly not one) "breaks the rules" and is a punishable offense now?

Again, I did not intend to insult and do not see how my comment could be construed as an insult by anybody. I have broken no rules here at all, and expect this "infraction" to be retracted forthwith.

You've got a grudge with Aramis. That's pretty clear. And while I've supported you in a couple of issues on this board, in my opinion you are clearly in the wrong here, which is why I've handed out an infraction. You don't like it? Report it. The other Moderators will take a look, and so will Hunter.

In the meantime, the infraction stands, and I strongly suggest that you re-read your posts before you hit "submit". It is your responsibility to reasonably ensure that others won't be insulted.

Of course, that can go too far, but your post was clearly over the line.

Public Whining about infractions in the thread they were earned in is itself a violation of board policy.

The ONLY allowed venues on this site for complaint about infractions are PMing the mod issuing or posting a complaint in the Website issues forum. Or, if on the allowed list, PMing hunter.

And All the mods & admins see all the infractions. We both get them in the mods forum and our email.

This has nothing to do with any "grudge" I may or may not have with him (though this would not be helping matters if I did). This is a moderator (or moderators) wilfully misinterpreting what I say in order to punish someone based on their own very creative interpretation of the rules. It is completely baseless, totally unfounded, and highly unfair.

All this because I said that someone apparently did not have the sense of humour to appreciate an amusing link. And you wonder why this board has such a poor reputation?

Consider this a formal complaint of bias and misconduct against both yourself and Aramis. But I will humour you and post a complaint to the Website Issues board, so that you may ignore it there as well. If you think that is "whining" then so be it. Uh, no. I construed your post as an insult, no matter how you tried to spin it later. I felt it was clearly over the line. There is no change in story. At least on my part. The moment i read it I thought that it was insulting. If it wasn't, then perhaps you should have apologized. You did not, and continued to aggravate the situation.

The proper method, according to board rules, to dispute an infraction or warning is to hit the Report button on the PM that notified you of the infraction.

Now, I suggest (strongly) that you drop this, and let this thread continue. I tried to deal with you via PM, and you took it public. It needs to stop here. But if you keep crapping this thread with your complaints, either you or the thread will get shut down.

If you feel a burning need to continue this, feel free to post to the Website issues, and I'll let another Moderator deal with it.

In the meantime, I now return everyone else to their thread.

I thought this was hilarious when I spotted it a few days ago and even though some of it is pretty undeserving of the panning they get it is no less funny.

Reminds me of how bad some of the old 3rd party Traveller licensee art was though.

And I'd love to know where they sourced Muscle Woman from.
