Tech Level 1 Massive Engineering Techniques

Putting the blocks up has never been an issue. Moving them several dozen to several hundred miles requires considerably more than one person. There are quite a few Egyptian wall reliefs and paintings showing how the Egyptians moved large stone monuments. Also, they did have to cut the stone out of quarries, which is not easy either without modern tools.

To produce Tech Level One or Zero monuments, just takes time and the ability to organize manpower.

For a good book on the subject of early technology, I would recommend Hodge's Technology in the Ancient World. L. Sprague DeCamp's The Ancient Engineers is also a good one to look at.

For more current technology, aside from material on Project Gutenberg, I would recommend two books by Edwin Tunis: Colonial Living and Colonial Craftsmen. They cover technology in the US Colonial period. His book on Frontier Living is also useful, as is his book on Indians.
