T5 Page 80; having a hard time

I'm having trouble understanding the first numbered paragraph on page 80 (1. Homestar).

First, the first sentence starts with "Roll Flux for Sp Spectral, ...". What does "Sp" mean?

Second, I'm assuming that the paragraph applies to the HOMESTAR table right next to it. Please confirm (or deny).

Third, that first sentence starts with "Roll Flux ...", but the table goes from -6 to +6. I thought Flux goes from -5 to +5.

Finally, what "Size column" is it referring to? None of the tables have a size column.

1. Sp == Spectral; re-read the sentence as "Roll Flux for Spectral (Sp)" ..as in Spectral Type.
2. Table 1 Homestar is what it is referring to.
3. Correct; the range represented in the table goes from -1 to +1 of the range rolled. There is an explanation on page 25 that says "Most tables are padded with entries one less than the minimum roll, and one more than the maximum roll." It is just a convention used on the dice tables in the book.
4. Size columns are O-M, which one determined by the Sp roll. So, roll flux, and then reference the column indicated by the first flux roll on the Sp column.

Yes, it does apply to that chart. "Sp" means "Spectral", but it is not an error, it means to look for and roll on the column called "Sp" on that chart. So if you rolled flux and got a +2 for instance, your result would be "K" under the Sp column. Then you roll flux again, except this time look at the "K" column for your size class. So to continue the example, say you rolled a -3 here, under "K" that result would be "IV". Thus your star would be a KxIV. Of course you still need a decimal for that x place I stuck in there, so however you want to roll that (such as 0-9 Even Distribution 2D chart on p31), say you get a "4", then your star would be K4IV, a subgiant star 40% between orange (K) and red (M).

As for the +6/-6 results on flux, I myself am still waiting for a good answer on that one, as there are many charts that have that but with no mods applicable.
