State of the Imperium Address

Are we not slightly overdue for the annual state of the Imperium address to let all of us rabid fans what to expect in the next 3-6-12 months?

Plus a progress report on projects now entering the final stages of completion?

Along with possible future directions?

I address all the game designers out there as it would be nice to have a summary from all of them.

I'm interested in this, as well. I'm looking forward to a State of the Imperium address, too, especially with the limited response over the last few months, induced, no doubt, by the holidays and other obligations.

Also perhaps giving us some sort of broader vision of what we might in the long run (2-5 years) expect together with submissions guidelines (like what exists on the SJG website).

True, this is an impossibly big task given the small size of the RPG market but we should have something that causes us to dream about the bigger and better things that are being dreamt about in the heads of the designers.

The only State of the Imperium address I want to hear is from Avery/Marc. With reguards to when, give or take 6 months, the next CT/T2K reprint may come out. And what it will be (CT modules, Second Survey, TTA-TTB, Gamelords/Fasa reprints), or if the whole reprint thing has died a quite death.

I hope you get it, Wolfman, but I and a number of others are also interested in what's down the line for T20 and QLI.

I'm definitely looking forward to one soon, as I've seen Hunter become more active this last week.

I was contemplating this thread this morning when something occured to me.

We have six versions of Traveller.

CT, MT, TNE, T4, GT, T20.

Thats six versions. Just like the Droyne would have it.

Almost, there are four different versions of CT alone

Ok, you could split them into 1st edition, and the 2nd revised edition (which includes the Traveller Book and the Starter Traveller set - both of which contain rules found nowhere else ).
So I count seven...

- MWM: What is the current status of the various reprints? When do you plan to release the MT CDROM? What is the next CT Reprint you plan to publish, and when?

- MWM: What is the current state of T5? Do you plan to do anything significant with it in the near future?

- Hunter: What are the expected releases from QLI this year? When do you plan on releasing 1248?

- LKW: Besides Interstellar Wars, what GT releases are planned? Are you finished with "classic" era GT products, or will you be bringing the "classic" era up to GURPS 4e?

- All: Feel free to expand on any Traveller subject. The above questions are only meant as a starting point.

I can't speak for anyone else but myself. However, the writing on 2320AD is finished, the cover has been commissioned, interior artwork has begun, and I do believe Hunter has started the layout.

I'm just waiting to hear back from Hunter on a few follow-on products.

More PDFs. Those include EPICs plus LBB-style golden age and TNE-1200 adventures.

Starfall: This is the next big print book

In the Queue: Harrington, 2320, T2000, Aldenata, More Traveller including Players Book, Grand Adventure 1 (Homecoming), Stoner Sourcebook...

.. and 1248 of course.

Three requests...

In the State of the Imperium address could we also have a recap done either by the Ancients or others what each product is to contain...as even as an archivist, I lose track of all the details...so just a brief annotation would be helpful.

Could we have more details about a release date for the dead tree Traveller products and if Hunter has laised with other PLAYERS of the Traveller universe (eg. Marc & Loren) to hear anything about what plans they might have for this year.

Also, I for one is eagerly awaiting 1248 and I know it will be great but I was wondering if its schedule could be bumped up.
