Join us next week on "What's my ship of the line?" when we'll have a special guest. I can't say where the ship is from, except that it's alien. ;)

<rushes off stage and out the studio to make it to Liam's ship to jump out before the fireworks start... >

Slightly off-topic question:

If a Black Globe Generator absorbs all incoming energy, does it also absorb the ship's mass signature? For example, where a normal ship would leave a small gravity well in local space - would a ship with an active Black Globe Generator leave no gravity well?

FF&S says that black globes are purely electromagnetic in nature. Mass would be unaffected - if you wanted something like that, get a portable pocket universe
.

That's what I was aiming at. The Black Globe Generator being an intermediary technological step to pocket universes. A Black Globe produces effects very similar to an Event Horizon on a black hole.

Maybe it's not a black globe at all. Just a really really big ship painted black.

Or, a small ship with a black globe acting as a decoy.

hehehhe...

well the first thing i thought of
was "i wonder if the yolk is black
too?"...

better yet, what color of silly
putty is inside?
