Stasis Field: what tech level?

Werner

SOC-13
This is installed on a ship, like a black globe, except instead of a black globe, it presents a sphere around the ship with a perfectly reflective surface, all radiation is reflected off its surface from gamma rays to radio, it reflects mesons and is basically impenetrable to subatomic particles, and all four fundamental forces, this is because time within the radius of a stasis field does not exist. The stasis field lasts for a certain preset amount of time as seen from the outside of its effects, afterwards the stasis field decays and time within resumes when the field collapses.

So what are the requirements, power fuel etc? The energy isvexpended at once to establish the stasis field. As for time intervals:
Stasis 1: 0 to 100 seconds
Stasis 2: 0 to 100 minutes
Stasis 3: 0 to 100 hours
Stasis 4: 0 to 250 days
Stasis 5: 0 to 41 years
Stasis 6: 0 to 2,464 years

Wiki claims that white globe generators (black globe but you can see out through them) are TL19-21, and stasis fields are higher (but unspecified) TL than that.

In the OTU, TL-21 isn't quite reached even in the Galaxiad era (1902IE onward, 800 years after the Golden Era of the early 1100s), though this was after coming back from dropping a few TLs in the meantime.

These aren't going to be human-built in any OTU setting. They can be found, or stolen, or in the possession of (or left behind by) very-high-tech aliens.

Energy requirements are almost moot. By the time you can make them, you've got zero-point energy available. If you had to power them using TL 9-15 sources in starship sizes, make it like Jump Drive Jump Capacitor charging requirements.

Okay then, let's put Stasis-1 at TL21, Stasis-2 at TL22 all the way up to Stasis-6 at TL26. Here is a trick, place a matter/antimatter bomb just outside the radius of effect of the stasis field generator, snap the field on and detonate the bomb, the stasis field will reflect half the output of the bomb accelerating everything within the field by thst amount of kinetic energy.

Stasis fields can also be used as vacuum balloons if it encloses mostly vacuum, it will be less dense than some atmospheres and float.

Instead of guessing you could just look them up in T5...

stasis fields make an appearance at TL21, the stasis globe is TL24.

Well I just don't happen to have a copy of every version of Traveller, what I have is T20 and Mongoose Traveller. So if I might inquire, what's the difference between a stasis field and a stasis globe? In my version the stasis generator is within the stasis field and this field naturally decays releasing everything held in stasis after a certain amount of time passes.

I got this idea from the book Marooned in Realtime by Vernor Vince.
