Software Solutions for D20-based Traveller Games

I wouldn't mind getting a bunch of us together and formalizing some sort of development effort, with or without official sanction.

Seems to me, while we're talking about D20-based tools, the current batch of "generic" D20 tools just don't cut the mustard in some ways. So a specific, D20 Traveller effort seems to be required.

As such, I'm willing to spearhead such an effort. I've been a software developer (at the professional level) for 20 years and worked at such firms as Microsoft, Boeing, and USAF (among others). I am primarily a .NET developer but have extensive experience with many other languages.

If you're interested in joining me in such a project, let me know.

I agree. I think there is an effort to add T20 to PCGen. Its discussion group is a Yahoo roup. T20_PCGEN? I beleive PCGen is Java. A referee module for T20 in PCGen would be nice.

I'm writing a T20 chargen in perl. I don't know any other languages that well though.

There are some other perl based s/w solutions that they are talking about in this forum. They sound quite good.

My interest extends beyond just character generation. I'd like to build all sorts of modules for use within this proposed "framework"

Yeah. PCGen is a framework. It has a plugin system. GMGen is one of the plugins.

Its Java, or I'd have started there.

But a T20 specific framework might be easier.

FYI, all of MS's dev tools are now FREE in hteir basic (EXPRESS) form
