General So I have begun a campaign...

My setting is in the late 3I. according to some that would be after 5FW, and before MT setting.

According to Cannon timeline, HIM Strephon was assassinated in IR 1116. So I am beginning 3 years prior in mid-1113. I'm going to take the players through a series of what seem like unrelated events, leading up to when they discover Archduke Dullinor's traitorus act. Naturally depending, would the Characters be able to stop Dullinor? Would they aid him? or What would happen if they change events and end up as the accused?

Any ideas to help me ruin the lives of some of the would be traveller heros/heroines.?

GURPS timeline has a group go back in time and stop Dulinor. Something for you to look into. I like the idea of a group being able to stop Dulinor or at least trying to. You could run it a lot like Disney's live-action Three Musketeers. Without the terrible Charlie Sheen acting, tho. Please.

There was no time travel involved.

The GURPS 3I is set in an alternate universe where Dulinor's plot was uncovered and Strephon was not assassinated.
 
Ruin their lives by making them wealthy and powerful. Close friends of one side and likely to benefit greatly if the other side wins.

Well, that's if you like twists. My favorite would be that the characters have to work like heck to help their side win.

I have the Gurps Ed. and My wife is a better Actor than Charlie Sheen...no worries. I do not like the time travel concept tho. Star Trek ruins it.

Thanks, Scout. I am actually running in the Gurps system. Plus given the optional story thread between Cannon and GURPS, I figure one result or the other. Yet there is the third Option where Lucian is Emporer and Forces a short War where ultimately the Moot rallies to Margaret or Norris. I am not quite at that level, but I have a base game plan. Now I just need some events leading up to the Dullinor Plot. I think one maybe LONGBOW II. Plus the elementary concept for Virus. Who knows....

where? what book?
 
The 3 Ed GURPS Traveller does not have a group go back in time to Thwart Dulinor, but exists in a way that Dulinor was killed in a shuttle accident, (or was it) on his way to Capitol and have an audience with Stephron. GURPS version this allows for a general continuity of the 3I. Maybe Dul and Steph are both killed, and Grand Princess Ciencia Iphegenia Alkhalikoi, Ascends the Iridium Throne. Maybe under her ignites a new Golden Age of the Imperium...Don't know where I am going with this yet but hey it is in the works.
