Hello all,

In CT Book 2 Starships pages 24-25 there is a blank copy for Ship's Papers (Commercial) JTAS Form 3. Page 24 shows the front of the form with Block 11c titled Max. Atmosphere.

JTAS 4 pages 20-21 shows an example of a filled in TAS Form 3 for the Gazelle class Close Escort Unicorn. Block 11c. Max Atmosphere has the entry of Skim Only.

Does anyone know where to find the details for filling out the form and if so can I get the book and page numbers please?

Hi,

Max atmosphere comes from streamlining, streamlined & partially streamlined ships can fuel skim from gas giants if fitted with fuel scoops, fully streamlined ships can enter all atmospheres and use seas for refuelling.

Unstreamlined ships can not enter atmospheres greater than 2 (from memory)
and can only refuel via tanker/highport/shuttle.

Kind Regards

David

Howdy Dargill,

Thank-you for the reply and clarification for JTAS Form 3.

Hi,

Book 2 only mentions streamlining and nothing about partial or unstreamlined hulls, of course with my luck the information is there and my paper copy has put the material in stealth mode.

Book 5 on the other hand provides some clarification by talking about partially and unstreamlined hulls.

Unstreamlined ships can not enter atmospheres greater than 2 (from memory) and can only refuel via tanker/highport/shuttle.

Kind Regards

David
If I understood your meaning, very possible I didn't, and memory Book 5 page 17 states: "Any hull configuration can land on a world with and atmosphere of 0 or 1; for all other worlds, streamlining is required." So partially and unstreamlined hulls can not enter atmospheres greater than 1 not 2. Of course your memory was closer than my would have been.;)

Thanks again for the help.
