Rebellion Naval Campaigns

SOC-10
Has anyone run a Rebellion naval campaign with players?

This would be campaigns were players are active duty naval officers serving on one of the ships in the The Fighting Ships of the Shattered Imperium book.

The campaign would combine roleplaying with some wargaming when ships get into combat.

Is there a Challenge article or something similar that cover the rules for character generation for those who have not mustered out and are still on active duty?

Yes, I think there is a Challenge magazine article on it but it's not one of the ones I have :(

There is a starters adventure in a Challenge mag I do have, No32 "A World on its Own", where two of the given pregenerated characters are serving Naval officers and the adventure details them trying to regain possession of their ship. I allways thought it might make a good starting off point but never ran it.

Once the Rebellion is in full swing, it would also be handy to have a copy of Imperial Squadrons or Trillion Credit Squadrons to play out some of the fragmenation.

I just had a quick look through my Challenges [ah, memories...] and if there's an article about how to generate navy characters, either I missed it or it's in one I don't have, which would be before 30 or so.

There are rules on Prize Courts, once your active duty navy types grab ships; there are several articles on Wet Navy construction and then a few wet navy adventures; there are many 'adventure nugget' articles that include aspects of the navy, wet or space. Nothing on generating characters.

The simplest way to get active duty spacers would be to roll the character and skip the 'muster out' phase. Give them a die roll for cash, and they're good to go.

I've been running a large scale strategic campaign in the Zarushagar sector. The players are Navy Admirals, Marine Generals that have sided with Daibei. I have used T4'sImperial Squadrons for in service rules as well as the large scalecombat rules (based on FFW rules and partly covered in MT Rebellion Sourcebook). As mentioned before to create an in service character stop the generation before muster out.

Pocket Empires was another resource which I readily adapted to MT.
