Realm Works

I have RW. I really liked it. That being said, I found myself spending more time designing templates than actually inputting information.

In one attempt, Pendragon, I spent hours upon hours creating the template and inputting information. And then I remembered that it's useless. I can't print it, display it online, or do anything but show it to people who own RW. Makes it useless in my book. Which is a massive, massive shame. I love its structure and ease of use. I love the topic-linking which makes life so bloody easy.

I haven't used it for over a year or so... if they've implemented export (pdf, text, XML...) or print, please let me know. That would change my opinion. My take was that they had no interest in allowing any export despite claiming it was on the list for future development. I realized I was just putting all this info somewhere that it could disappear or collect dust because my group doesn't allow tablets/PC's at the table.

Generally, on how to use it, it would greatly help the community to come up with templates for folks to utilize. That's the big time-crunch. I'm pretty sure you can clone templates for others now...

I have RW and spent several months trying to make usable Traveller data entries, however I found it to be so D20 fantasy based that I was having to recreate so many templates or squeeze square pegs into round holes that I lost interest. It would be awesome if it came with a more generic template or better still a sci-fi specific template. I do use it for my D&D games and have tried a Runequest campaign too.

If you need print function you can try saving/printing screenshots.
