Playing T5

Is anyone playing T5? I mean an actual game, not building stuff and designing starships.

I'm wondering this largely because the question of supporting products has emerged and whether that is viable depends mainly on whether folks are playing games with T5 as their ruleset, or playing around with T5... if that makes any sense.
Well, > 2,000 supported the T5 Kickstarter and > 250, aramis' Cirque. The kickstarter pretty much gives a hard current max. Even if the majority of customers limit their use to 'building stuff and designing starships' (or simply collectin) that means there is some demand for 'supporting products' of that nature - anything else can probably be generic enough to support numerous versions.

I am still reading through stuff, deciding which aspects of the optional rules I want to use, and figuring out what size group I can run. After that, I will start running a game.

This.

How well do aventures run, under multiple Traveller rules systems? For example, can we take current Avenger products and run them under T5 rules? Can we take Classic Traveller adventures and run them under T5, or Mongoose, etc?

CT and Mongoose adventures seem to be fairly interchangeable with only a smattering of issues - mostly with minor changes related to starships (like MgT missing Repulsors; CT missing the variety of missiles and some unique propulsion and other options). If the adventure doesn't provide PCs, then most of the differences are pretty easily ignored.

T5 allows for a lot more details - but, does that really affect the adventures much? Mostly in specific equipment and stats - and any unique rules, I would think...

I've run The Traveller Adventure under CT, MT, TNE, T4, and MGT. Ran well enough in all of them, tho' MT, for maximum flavor, required task label conversion, and T4 likewise. T5 should be much the same.

It felt notably different under each, however.
