Agreed the pixie dust is pretty cool, and I love how the guy's brother just sent him the stuff when it's not yet "out there" in the public.
On the other digit that X-finger is pretty damn cool too and if I suffered a finger tip amputation I think I'd like the tech version, with a blue-tooth hard drive and electronic swipe-key built into mine

I think I'm with fartrader on this one. Regrow the important parts. Replace with tech for everything else

Hmm, Blackbat's article suggests that the fingertip may have regrown even if the 'pixie dust' was a placebo.

This story is a little bit too sensational. The BBC had a comprehensive scientific rebuttal of it this morning. The man actually lost less than 9mm of his finger tip and the nail bed was intact. The healing process seen was perfectly natural and at no greater speed than normal. This is what happens when you send an "entertainment" journalist to cover a science story.
Out of interest this story first surfaced back in February 2007 and then again in February 2008, do you think his brother is desperately trying to push his Snake Oil, sorry I mean Pixie Dust.
