NASA Admits Alcubierre Drive Initiative: Faster Than The Speed Of Light

I'm afraid there must be something broken in the link, as it sends me to a page ot found message.

No offense, but that site seems a bit... out there. Mention of the idea that we must have captured at least one of those UFOs that have visited us reduces the believability.

There's also no mention of the actual technology/physics involved. Oh, there's plenty of talk about the idea, but no mention of *how* you manage to bend space. There's also not a single link that I can find in the article backing up their claim that NASA admits to working on an Alcubierre drive.

OK, I'll go back to my Anonymous Skeptics Society meeting now and leave y'all in peace.

Agreed. I found it in second place doing a google search on Alcubierre drives. Thought it might be interesting.

Now I'm going back to making crop circles and mutilating cattle till diner time. ;)

Here's what NASA has actually published on this topic.

http://www.nasa.gov/centers/glenn/technology/warp/ideachev.html

there's more than that - NASA actually has admitted they are working on a test rig for the pulsed capacitor alcubierre drive. They think they found a loophole in the math that they can test with a reasonable energy budget... if it works, we should be doing 10C within our lifespan. Won't help much with getting to orbit...
