I'm looking at the Mongoose vehicle book and want a drop pod...The choice seems to be (for an unpowered one) Wagon or Boat with auxiliary thruster.

Grav vehicle?
It is supposed to control and stop the drop using a grav drive.
Perhaps halve the cost for a non-reusable pod?

There are drop pods/re-entry capsules in High Guard, p.46, and also in the Element Cruiser book, have you seen them? Or perhaps you’re after something else, in which case they might provide a good basis to build on? If you want one that carries more passengers you could simply increase size and cost and so on...

The above link goes to the version derived from the Mongoose V2 rules assuming Cr2600 per space (1/30th of the equivalent heavy powered vehicle of that type)
That is (it seems) consistent with the Assault Capsule Cost and size per Mongoose 2 High Guard. Which is good!
