Hey all, I just picked up Mongoose Traveller, and am hoping to start running a game. I played a little classic Traveller back in middle school, even have the LBB, Mongoose seems to have the feel of the Classic, and it's in print.
My current group meets every other Saturday evenings and we are playing Hunter the Vigil, it's a heavy role-playing game. I would like to take a bit of a break and run a sandbox/exploration type game. We are all in our thirties (myself and three players) some of use closer to the big four zero than we might like to admit, get a long well, enjoy an adult beverage or two while playing, and would like to add player or three to the mix.
I admit to having a little gamer ADD, I want to go back to the Hunter game, however I'm also an avid rpg reader and kind of get fascinated with what ever I'm reading at the time. In my ideal world and perfect game group we would run several different/new games a year. I love me some D&D (okay I'm partial to AD&D 1e and 2e), but equally interested in all sorts of indie games. It would be awesome if we had a couple of passionate GM's who would run their games for a few months then pass the torch to the next person. I might be dreaming, however if you want to jump on board let me know, and if you just want to play Traveller for a while thats cool.
If you are interested in:
Over the Edge
Traveller
CJ Carella's Witchcraft
Savage Worlds
Space 1889
TMNT
Amber Diceless
AD&D (1e,2e, clones like OSRIC)
World of Darkness
Mouse Guard
Serenity
All Flesh Must be Eaten
this list could go on and on ... what's your favorite game?
